“A new home awaits the weary traveler”
Never having visited Asia, let alone while working, we were completely unaware of what to expect.
We started our trip with 3 nights in Kathmandu before heading to Pokhara and the surrounding countryside. Instead of staying at a hotel or teahouse, we decided to stay with Govinda and his family about 15 minutes outside of downtown Kathmandu - and we couldn’t have been happier. He warmly opened his home to us, provided comforts without our asking and serving us breakfast and dinner daily, cooked by his loving wife.
His team took us around the major sites in Kathmandu and the immediate area. They were incredibly friendly and understanding that our visit was primarily business related (documentary film) forcing us to keep on a tight budget and schedule. Nevertheless, their kindness and desire to share the Nepalese culture with us made our time incredible rewarding. Although he could have shown us more of the country, our business took us elsewhere and we would return to Govinda upon completion, before departing to the US.
Govinda was our "fixer." Any requests, concerns, or problems to solve - he made it happen. His contacts are strong, his team of drivers and guides are professional and courteous. He assisted with our travel out of Kathmandu and was always available if we had a hiccup in our schedule or plans.
I look forward to returning to Nepal without the pressures of work and, without a doubt, will call Govinda yet again!

“Awesome Experince”
I would give Pilgrim the highest recommendation. Main reasons are Govinda’s experience. Govinda clearly knows what he is doing and has been doing it very well for along time. All details and associated coordination were always well attended to. The next reason is his judgment. He knows his clientele well and has the ability to access what will make the best experience based on your skill and what you want to do. His support team is also very experienced. Lastly Govinda and his support team are just great guys- you really enjoy hanging out with them. Food is always awesome. -Whether you are touring temples in Kathmandu or trekking trough small villages.
Thumbs up. Awesome- Pilgrim is very well run organization. Wish everything in my life went so smoothly.
Bill Perna, Maine;
Its is 5-6 minute walk from Shar Minub Ling, at the Nagarjuna Valley.
In Kathmandu, in a valley at the base of Nagarjuna mountain, Shamar Rinpoche is developing a large monastery called Shar Minub. “Shar” means “to rise”, “Nub” means “to set”, and “Mi” means “no”. Therefore “Shar Minub” means “To rise, but not to set.”
